ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with start times of 7 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, or 7 PM
• Night shifts are typically block scheduled
• Every-other-weekend requirement; nights rotate Friday/Saturday and days rotate Saturday/Sunday
• Expected to work holidays as needed based on unit needs
• No floating required
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 1-2 twelve-hour shifts depending on experience
• Work in a 40-bed emergency department including 2 trauma bays, 7 rapid medical exam beds, and 2 psych/seclusion rooms
• Rapid Medical Exam area operates from 11 AM to 11 PM or 1 AM and sees typical Level 3-5 patients
• Average patient volume of approximately 120 patients per day
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for RNs
• Charting system: EPIC; previous EPIC experience required
• Common diagnoses include MVCs, STEMIs, strokes, overdoses, behavioral health cases, and pediatric/adolescent patients
• Ventilators used include Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1 transport vent, Philips Respironics V60 BiPAP, and AirVo/MaxTech high flow systems
• Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and free charge nurse available in-house 24/7
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA), and TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, CPEN
• Minimum 2 years of previous ER experience in a similar size and volume emergency department required
• Previous travel experience required
• BSN required
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color only, distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
