Emergency Room RN Job in Marshalltown, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at UnityPoint Marshalltown, a 16-bed unit serving trauma, stroke, obstetric, and advanced cardiac patients. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts per week
• $2,304 weekly pay
• Billable overtime applies between 36–40 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed

Your Role

• Care for patients across multiple acuity levels in a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer critical drips and manage time-sensitive interventions
• Apply clinical skills specific to Emergency Department operations

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multi-state license
• 24 months of current and recent ER experience
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC certifications
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent travel healthcare experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI)—can be obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate—can be obtained during onboarding
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
