Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required with flexibility based on unit need
• Float to other units may be required based on census needs
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit providing comprehensive nursing care and telemetry monitoring on a 24-hour basis to patients with cardiovascular conditions
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular conditions including Heart Failure, managing inpatient care and arranging post-hospitalization services
• Perform continuous EKG monitoring and/or continuous oxygen saturation monitoring via telemetry
• Administer specific intravenous and oral medications to treat cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
• Prepare and send patients for cardiac interventions, various surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures
• Provide holistic care addressing individual physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and their families
• Skills required include blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips, pacemaker management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and EKG interpretation
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV equipment, Vocera, and TempMedIQ paging system
• Medication system: Omnicell
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry nursing experience required; first-time travelers must have 3 years of experience within the specialty
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Self-scheduling unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SC RN license
