ICU Registered Nurse Job in Prescott, AZ

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a float pool assignment across ICU, Med-Surg Telemetry, and PCU units at Yavapai Regional Medical Center—West. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, with three 12-hour day shifts per week at $2,224 weekly pay.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays per permanent staff rotation
• Schedule published 6 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks; night shift will attempt block scheduling
• Unit assignments communicated via text 2 hours before shift start
• Standby/on-call possible on shifts with excessive staffing; may be called in during a 12-hour standby period

Clinical Responsibilities

• Float pool covers inpatients in the ICU, Med-Surg Telemetry, PCU, and ED hold areas across both campuses
• First to float when staffing needs arise
• Manage patients with geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op day 3–4 presentations
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, Med-Surg Telemetry 1:5–6
• Nurse aides support all settings; monitor techs cover PCU and Med-Surg Telemetry; stepdown monitors on unit
• RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP in Med-Surg at night; BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow in PCU

Requirements and Orientation

• Minimum 1 year ICU experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher score within two attempts before contract signature
• Orientation: 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour Med-Surg Telemetry shift, 12-hour PCU shift
• Solid color professional scrubs; navy scrubs per Dignity guidelines starting October
• Charting via Cerner

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel up to 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if your contract is under 13 weeks.
