Telemetry RN Job in Elmira, NY

Join Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a Registered Nurse on our 34-bed stroke telemetry unit. You'll care for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment where your clinical skills and attention to detail directly impact patient outcomes.

Your Role

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale evaluations
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding promptly to rhythm changes
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with emphasis on safety and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures including dysphagia screening, patient education, and individualized care plans
• Practice primary and team nursing models to optimize patient care coordination
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover setting
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy, and case management
• Maintain focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and comprehensive patient safety

What You Need

• RN degree
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arrival

• Duration: 90 days
