ED RN Job in Salem, VA

Join Lewisgale Medical Center VA as a Registered Nurse in our 8-bed freestanding Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment running from November 9, 2026, offering you the chance to work in a focused emergency care environment with defined staffing and clear expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to both high and low acuity emergency department patients
• Manage a 4:1 patient ratio
• Perform medication administration, critical patient care, and lab work
• Work as a core member of our emergency nursing team, caring for critically ill patients
• Operate GE equipment and document in the Meditech EMR system

Shift and Schedule

• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Four weekend shifts required per schedule
• No on-call or floating requirements

Staffing and Support

Day shift includes two RNs, one EMT, and two mid-level RNs working alongside you. Night shift runs with two RNs. This structure supports both independent and collaborative practice.

Requirements and Certifications

• Current RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC
• Emergency department nursing experience required
• ENPC certification preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay is $1,932. Dress code is navy blue scrubs.
