ED Registered Nurse Job in Chesapeake, VA

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026.

Position Details

• 4x12-hour night shifts
• Weekly pay: $2,937.60
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday rotation required
• Typical patient ratio 1:4 (may increase to 1:6 with Medical-Surgical hold patients)
• Stroke patients assigned 1:1 until admission or through tPA treatment window
• STEMI and cardiac arrest patients assigned 1:1
• No psychiatric patients assigned to travel RNs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission (no exceptions)
• Proficiency in Epic (no exceptions)
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and TNCC
• EKG testing required—must score 80% or higher on first attempt with no remediation available
• 3 hours of pre-start modules required

Eligibility Requirements

• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No license or background hits will be considered
