Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center MO is seeking an RN for a 12-hour day shift position on the 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,933.

Role Overview

You will work three 12-hour shifts per week (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), including three weekend shifts per schedule period. You'll care for a 23-bed unit with support from a unit secretary and patient care technician. Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:5.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients
• Care for trauma and neuro overflow patients as assigned
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Conduct bedside shift reports and hourly rounding per patient experience requirements
• Document care using the Meditech electronic documentation system

Assignment Details

As contract labor, you are first to float and may be assigned to other Med Surg level of care units, including General Med Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry and NIH stroke scale experience required
• BLS certification
• Navy scrubs required as dress code
