CVOR Technologist Job in Pittsburgh, PA

You will work as a Surgical Technologist in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Southwest – UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 18, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12 rotating shifts, 36 estimated hours per week
• Weekly pay: $2,557

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions prior to procedures
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment and verify proper operation before surgery begins
• Prepare patients for surgery including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Assist surgical team members with sterile gowning and gloving procedures
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments throughout procedures
• Assist in preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are properly labeled and distributed to the nurse according to established policies
• Assist with patient transfer to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room post-procedure
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through adherence to safety protocols and aseptic technique

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) credential
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 requirements
• Meet PA legislature House Bill 81 surgical technology requirements as enacted December 27, 2020
