Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 shifts per week
• Patient ratio is 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend and holiday is required
• No block scheduling available
• Float to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units within scope based on hospital needs
• Work on a 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit serving as a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Treat patients with neurologic diagnoses including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, post-laminectomy, post-ACDF, post-craniotomy, and ETOH withdrawal
• Utilize continuous bedside EEG monitoring, telemetry, and bladder scanning on the unit
• 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Neurology experience required
• CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required
• Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury required
• Feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis care, and renal failure experience required
• Surgical drain, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE experience required
• Teaching hospital and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma certification
• Basic EKG assessment through Prophecy Relias required and must be successfully completed before attending orientation
• 8 hours of annual stroke continuing education required
• 4 hours of annual trauma-related continuing education required
• TCRN preferred
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Patient age groups served: Adults and Geriatrics
