Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Weekend night positions require Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays; weekday night positions require every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule
• Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation
• Unit is a 20-bed Neuro floor with a 1:5-6 patient ratio for floor patients
• Nurse aides are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:7-10
• Charge Nurse available 24/7
• Common diagnoses include Neurosciences, Deep Brain Stimulators (DBS), Stroke, Seizures, Surgical/PostOp Spines, and Neurological Disorders
• Strong Neuro experience required with proficiency in G-tube management
• Recent EPIC experience required; charting system is EPIC
• Telemetry is present on the unit; RNs are not required to read strips but must document verification of monitor tech strip readings in EPIC
• Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7; RNs are not required to have vent experience as floor vents are managed by RT and physician
• Titration is performed by physician orders; common drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin
• Floating may be required to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, then to other hospital units as needed
• Unit orientation consists of 1 shift on the unit
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Scrub color requirement is any combination of white and royal blue
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission); ACLS preferred
• Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission
