Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Position available for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
• 5 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• No on-call requirements
• Float required within service line
• Block scheduling not available
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed hours provided
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Care for patients coming from the ED, OR, or ICU
• Treat patient populations including geriatric trauma (55+), abuse/violence victims, MVA/MVC, falls, and acute care surgery cases such as appendicitis, gallbladder issues, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, and traumatic brain injury
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required skills include: Med/Surg, blood product administration, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, insulin management, PCA, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, isolation precautions, wound care and wound vac, and Level 1 Trauma experience
• Special equipment used includes lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS, BSN, TNCC
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
