RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every-other-weekend requirement, Saturday and Sunday for both day and night shifts
• Work within the holiday rotation schedule alongside permanent staff
• Cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• 29-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6
• CNA support available with approximately 3 CNAs on days and 2 on nights
• Charge nurse available 24/7; day charge nurse does not take patients, night charge nurse does take patients
• Care for cardiac patients including CR bands, post cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries after leaving CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post PCI patients
• Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg
• RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitors
• CPAP and BiPap present on unit, managed by Respiratory Therapy
• Float to any Med Surg/Telemetry unit as needed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No false nails permitted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Active West Virginia RN license required
