Telemetry RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint - Iowa Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Telemetry position on a Med Surg unit in Des Moines, IA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 17, 2026, working 3x12 day shifts.

Role Details

• Provide direct patient care on a 15-bed Med Surg Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 4–5:1
• Care for all types of med surg patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Monitor patients via remote telemetry unit
• Manage heparin drips and other acute nursing responsibilities
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend schedule required every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census
• May float across all UnityPoint campuses as needed
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed

Requirements

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry experience
• At least one travel contract completed within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Experience with heparin drips and all med surg patient types
• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Recent charge experience highly preferred
• Recent preceptor experience preferred
