Telemetry RN Job in Elmira, NY

Arnot Ogden Medical Center (AOMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 90-day travel assignment on a 34-bed stroke telemetry unit in Elmira, NY. This role offers 3x12 night shifts at $2,455 weekly.

You will work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment specializing in acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale evaluations
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to rhythm changes in real time
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with emphasis on safety and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and care plan development
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with providers, therapy, and case management teams
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover setting
• Maintain focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety

You will practice both primary and team nursing models, supporting a collaborative care environment. The unit's fast pace and specialized focus require strong clinical skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting.

Required qualifications: Current RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification. You must demonstrate the ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arrival. The assignment begins November 8, 2026.
