OR Registered Nurse Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Abilene, TX. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday block schedule, plus call and late days as required. You will work three 12-hour day shifts weekly, earning $2,436.48 per week.

Role Requirements

You must hold a current Texas nursing license at the time of application. Craniotomy and burr hole experience is a hard stop requirement. Minimum 2 years of experience in the service line is required. Travel experience and previous charge experience are preferred.

You will maintain a 1:1 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends, treating patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The facility specializes in Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma cases.

• Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Colon Resection, Hernia Repair, Mastectomy, Laparoscopic Assisted Procedures, General OR

Certifications and Experience

BLS certification is required. ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC are preferred. Experience with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System is preferred. Trauma Level I and Level II experience is preferred. Altera/Allscripts charting experience is preferred but not required.

Orientation and Time Off

You will complete a 40-hour orientation with modules averaging 6 to 8 hours. One pre-approved time-off request is allowed during your assignment.

Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams.
