Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• Self-scheduling basis with every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts are your regular assigned length
• No on-call requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,071

Role Specifics

You'll provide care to adult patients in an ENT and Plastic Surgery unit. Patient populations include those with cuffed or cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blow-out precautions, and free flap patients. You'll manage tracheostomy care, total laryngectomy care, free flap monitoring, drain care, tube feeding, and wound care.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (1+ year accepted if from a Level I or Teaching Facility)
• Central line management, phlebotomy, IV access, and telemetry monitoring
• Blood product administration, PICC line management, PCA, and wound care or wound vac management
• Surgical drain management
• Telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience
• First-time travelers accepted

Facility Details

You'll float within the service line as needed. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Social Services. Wear navy blue scrubs.

Time Off

Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract. No RTO allowed during your first week of assignment.
