ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Evening shift hours from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours - must be indicated on submission form
• Assignment length of 13-26 weeks - must be indicated on submission form
• Weekend hours as required by facility
• No call requirements
• Block schedule cannot be accommodated
• RTO must be made up on the back end and will not be approved in the first week of assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week
• 68-bed Emergency Department unit
• Patient ratio of 4:1 routinely; surge and other circumstances will alter ratios
• EMR system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Black; jeans and unprofessional attire are not acceptable
• 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 trauma facility or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility required - must be indicated on resume
• Trauma, pediatrics, and high acuity experience preferred; 200+ patients per day experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS (may be submitted without but must obtain prior to start)
• Current RN license required - must meet criteria for licensure in Missouri or be currently licensed in Missouri
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Utilize nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the time on duty, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., and kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally
