About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a 30-bed Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. This is a 12-week travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

  • 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Every other weekend commitment required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekly pay: $2,405

Role Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care with ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity. Your focus will be on patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-operative craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors. You will demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills and thorough neurological assessment capabilities. You must be proficient in caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients. Float assignments to other inpatient areas may occur when the home unit is at low census.

Required Experience and Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • EKG test required
  • Comprehensive and neurological assessment skills
  • Proficiency with hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients

Preferred Skills and Equipment Experience

Experience with Pupillometer, EVD management, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic electronic medical record system is preferred. Equipment you will use includes Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer.
