PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee; must agree to a 36/48-hour alternating schedule
• Straight 48 hours per week may be considered
• Weekend shifts required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Will float to support primarily Med Surg as well as PCU
• Patient ratios: 5 patients per nurse on days, 6 patients per nurse on nights
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics with MS/PCU overflow diagnoses
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, epidural analgesia, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, pacemaker management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, post cardiac angiogram/cath care, pre/post cardiac surgery, hemodialysis management, renal failure, seizure disorders, thrombolytic agents, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
