PCU Registered Nurse Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit. This is a day shift position working 4x12 schedules with an every-other-weekend rotation.

Position Overview

You will join a float pool team supporting the Progressive Care Unit, Medical Surgical Units, and admission holding area. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience and prior travel healthcare experience. You will care for adult patient populations while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across PCU, Med-Surg, and admission areas
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines
• Administer blood products and manage heparin protocols
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Manage respiratory support including high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Perform wound care and PCA management
• Collaborate with rapid response and code teams as needed

Additional Skills Utilized

• Phlebotomy and feeding tube care
• Pacemaker and epidural analgesia management
• Isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• Oxygen administration

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years relevant nursing experience
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Epic charting system experience preferred

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Assignment Details

Weekly pay: $2,799.36. Assignment begins October 5, 2026.
