Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7); Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Required to float within scope to meet facility needs including ED boarders, ICU (stable), Med Surg, and acute brain injury (stable patients)
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must be proficient in use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Must follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Patient diagnoses include cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged diabetes
• Special equipment includes bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, and Lifepacks
• PCTs available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Epic experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• New York state nursing license required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Maximum of 1 week RTO allowed per contract
