Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work in a 25-bed Med Surg unit with patient ratios of 5-6 patients per nurse
• Day shift staffing includes 5 nurses, 2 techs, and 1 unit secretary or 4 nurses, 3 techs, and 1 unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes 5 nurses and 2 techs or 4 nurses and 3 techs
• Scheduling requirements include every other weekend, holiday coverage, hard-to-fill shifts, and Monday/Friday availability
• May float to other Med Surg units as needed
• Care for patients with cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and GI conditions
• Utilize Baxter pumps for patient care
• Document using Expanse documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift report required for all patients regardless of mentation or contact status
• Must return to unit within 24 hours if high-risk documentation such as restraints is not completed
• RNs must assist LPNs with first admission assessment and plan of care documentation
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH stroke scale
• Must have a well-rounded skill set with experience treating various patient types and pathologies
• Must demonstrate teamwork mentality, accountability, and strong patient interpersonal skills
• 2 years of experience in a hospital setting required
• Active compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Dress code: All navy or all white scrubs with badge worn above the waist
