PCU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Join Methodist Hospital in San Antonio as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse on a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) on a 3x12 rotating schedule with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a 47-bed progressive care unit (IM/ISCU), managing patient ratios of 1:3–4. Your responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, managing tracheostomies, administering various drips, and performing routine progressive care procedures. You'll document all care in the Meditech system and use standard progressive care department equipment.

Schedule & Compensation

Night shifts run 12.5 hours each, three times per week. A rotating weekend schedule is required. You'll receive no call obligations. Weekly pay is $1,791.

Requirements

• Current, active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years hospital or specialty nursing experience
• Previous critical care experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications

What to Expect

Float to other units as needed per hospital policy. Dress code is navy scrub top and pants with a navy or white scrub jacket. Strict grooming standards apply, including policies on nails, hair, tattoos, and piercings.
