PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• 8-hour shifts also available within the 07:00–23:00 hour range
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 during transition phase
• Care for all post-operative patients who have received general anesthesia, including orthopedic, gynecological, urology, ENT, general surgery, and cath lab patients
• Critical care patients are transferred directly to the ICU for recovery
• Charting system: Cerner — familiarity strongly preferred
• Telemetry: Philips
• Ventilator use is rare and typically limited to emergent situations
• Rotating charge nurse who will also take patients
• Floating not required, but those with applicable skills may float to ACU or prep area
• Floor-specific orientation provided with a preceptor
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
• Minimum of 3 years of PACU or relevant nursing experience required
• Critical care background preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, Crisis Protocol Approved
