RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shift position with a start time of 5:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (hours not guaranteed during orientation week or holidays when unit is closed)
• 13-week contract
• Float position as part of the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) - must be comfortable floating between all Med/Surg units across multiple facilities
• Primary locations include ThedaCare Appleton and ThedaCare Neenah, with potential to float to smaller ThedaCare facilities as needed
• Schedule provided in 2-week increments; location subject to change up to 2 hours in advance based on staffing needs
• Up to every other weekend required; every weekend candidates will also be considered
• Holiday rotation as needed
• Any missed shift must be made up within 2 weeks of the absence
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6, with RNs paired with support staff (LPN/CNA) based on acuity
• Primary cases include Medical/Surgical, General Surgical, Oncology, Renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, Stroke, Surgical Trauma & Ortho, and DKA
• Experience with pre/post cath, post pacemaker, and TR Bands strongly preferred
• Specialty unit exposure includes cardiac (pre/post, heart cath & pacemakers) and neuro (stroke, post TNK, neuro surgery); traveler will only take patients within their skillset
• Pediatric patients seen on a rare basis
• Scrub color requirement: Black
• Required certifications: WI RN License, AHA BLS, and NIHSS; AHA ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting experience within the last year required
• Minimum 3+ years of RN experience and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience required
• At least 1 prior travel contract strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience required; candidates whose home or current facility is within 50 miles of ThedaCare Corporate Center in Neenah, WI are not eligible
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
