Med Surg RN Job in Cape Girardeau, MO

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in Medical-Surgical Neurosciences. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours weekly. Weekend hours are required as needed, and there are no on-call obligations.

You will care for medical and surgical neuroscience patients on a 17-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:6. Your patient population includes those with Parkinson's disease, stroke, and lumbar conditions—no trauma patients. You may float to Med Surg and Progressive Care units as needed.

Your responsibilities include:

• Administer medications, wound care, and IV therapy including central line care
• Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms and condition changes
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond quickly in emergencies
• Document all patient care in the EPIC EMR system
• Operate standard equipment including IV pumps
• Manage charge duties (charge experience preferred or willingness to learn)

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be completed during orientation)
• Neuro and stroke experience highly preferred
• Black scrubs required

You will earn $1,971 per week. Your assignment begins October 19, 2026.
