PICU Registered Nurse Job in Charlottesville, VA

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with October start dates available
• Night shift position
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with possible 2:1 ratio for high acuity patients
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• 3 weekends required per six-week schedule
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients including congenital heart conditions and complex medical diagnoses
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Unit maintains high census and high acuity with 25 beds and daily census of 23
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• BSN preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Required skills include but are not limited to: arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, IV vasopressors, ECMO, VADs, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of contract
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
