ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with varied start times: days 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, mids between 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, nights between 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• One call day per month, potentially two days if assigned to call team
• Schedule made at least 2 weeks in advance with self-scheduling by seniority
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
• Work in 28-bed emergency department with 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
• Handle approximately 155 patients per day including trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychiatric cases
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, COVID vaccine
• TNCC certification preferred
• Must pass proctored Dysrhythmia Test on first day (pass/fail)
• Floor-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts
• No floating between units
• Work with EMTs who handle tech duties, one per shift plus midshift EMT
• Navy scrubs required
• Use Cerner EMR system and GE telemetry
• Work with ventilators and trauma patients based on experience level
• Minimum 2 years specialty experience required, travel experience preferred
• Must have Level II trauma experience or above
• Must have experience in high volume, high acuity emergency departments
• Charge nurse responsibilities available without patient assignment
