Respiratory Therapist Job in Columbus, GA

Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 168-day travel assignment. You'll work 3x12 hour night shifts, with every other weekend required as part of a six-week schedule (5 weekend days per cycle).

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage non-invasive and conventional ventilation for patient populations ranging from infants to geriatrics, with primary focus on adult patients and pediatric intubated patients as needed
• Perform arterial lines, arterial blood gases, capillary blood gases, and draws from existing lines
• Administer aerosol therapy and conduct bedside pulmonary function tests
• Provide oxygen management and patient education
• Float within the facility and to sister campuses as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Trauma experience required; pulmonary function testing (spirometry) preferred
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, RRT, and valid Georgia state license
• Preferred experience with Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea equipment
• Epic charting experience preferred; you'll also use Pyxis and SBAR documentation systems

• 48 hours of orientation provided
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage expected: work all major holidays if 1–2 fall during assignment; work 2 of 3 if more fall during assignment
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all requests must be finalized at submission
• Weekly pay: $1,814.40
