Med Surg RN Job in Santa Fe, NM

CHRISTUS St Vincent Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN for our Medical/Surgical unit. You'll work 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a full-time basis.

Position Details

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated
• On-call requirement: 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated
• Float to all Med/Surg departments as assigned
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• EPIC electronic medical records system
• Grey scrubs required
• Blocked scheduling not accommodated

Your Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex patient care with focus on long-range goals and plans
• Apply the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for all assigned patients
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Practice independently with awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations

Requirements

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• BLS Certification via AHA
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
