ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Night shift position
• 12-hour shifts
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to float within Zone 1 based on need
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Treat 35+ patients per day in the emergency department
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• Administer common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Perform and/or assist with lab draws alongside phlebotomy team
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Respiratory therapy available in the ER 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• Fast track and separate triage area available
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms available
• In-house security present 24/7 in the ER
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, NRP, TNCC
• Must have TNCC and NIHSS experience
• Valid Colorado nursing license required
