Physical Therapist Assistant Job in Alturas, CA

Modoc Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation therapy team in Alturas, California. You will work Monday through Friday with no weekend requirements, treating 8–9 patients daily in a structured outpatient setting.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Perform therapeutic exercises, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, and neuromuscular re-education
• Operate physical therapy modalities including spinal traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, diathermy, and infrared light
• Schedule 1 hour for evaluations and 45-minute follow-up appointments with no double booking
• Maintain organized patient records with objective findings, proper timing, and dating
• Observe, evaluate, and document treatment effects with efficient verbal and written communication
• Maintain a safe treatment environment that prioritizes patient safety
• Assist with patient registration and scheduling as needed
• Adhere to a professional dress code
• Complete annual education requirements and participate in quality improvement projects
• Attend all assigned meetings and annual evaluations

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an APTA-approved Physical Therapist Assistant Program
• Current California PTA license
• BCLS certification, maintained without lapses
• Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient physical therapy is desired

This is a 63-week assignment starting September 30, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,044. Join our team and deliver direct patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment.
