Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (with stretch ratios of 6-7:1)
• Night patient ratios are expected to be 6-7:1 (stretch ratios of 8-10:1 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend shift coverage required
• No on-call required
• Float required between like units including ED boarders, ICU (stable patients), Med/Surg, and acute brain injury (stable patients)
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Candidates must be located more than 75 miles from the facility
• Required certification: BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Must be proficient in use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Must be skilled in peripheral line care and management
• Must be proficient in oxygen administration including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Must be proficient in non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Special equipment used includes bladder scanners, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, and Lifepacks
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged diabetes
• NY nursing license required prior to submission
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• RTO cannot exceed 10 days per contract
