ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Night shift position in the Emergency Room
• 3x12 shift schedule, working 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every 3rd weekend required; night shift weekends may fall on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Emergency department handles approximately 127 visits per day across 38 beds
• Patient diagnoses include any ER patient type, some pediatric cases, with a separate area for psychiatric patients
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretary
• Required clinical skills include triage, IV management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, intubation, procedural sedation, central line care, chest tube management, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction among others
