Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• 4x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• New York nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 16-bed MICU setting
• Patient diagnoses include sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest, targeted temperature management, and respiratory failure/shock
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and isolation precautions
• Additional skills include CRRT/CVVHD, ECMO protocols, IABP, Impella, hypothermia protocol, IV insulin protocols, massive transfusion protocol, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and procedural sedation administration
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Candidates will be required to float within the facility
