ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position starting November 2, 2026, offering 36 guaranteed hours per week at $2,325.96 weekly.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour variable PM and Night shifts
• PM shifts: 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
• Night shifts: 5:00 PM–5:00 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• On-call shifts may be requested in advance but rarely occur
• Primary assignment to the 18-bed Emergency Department with no float requirements

Your Role

You will work in a fast-paced trauma center managing 3–4 patients per nurse. The ED covers trauma, stroke, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory cases. Your responsibilities include drawing labs, performing nebulizer treatments, coordinating with on-site X-ray staff, in-house lab, and respiratory therapy, and using the Pyxis medication dispensing system.

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Trauma Level I or II experience required (or prior travel experience)
• EPIC charting experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications (ARC or AHA)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Prior travel nursing experience is preferred. Any color scrubs are accepted.
