Telemetry RN Job in Oxnard, CA

St Johns Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN for a telemetry float pool position in Oxnard, CA. You will work 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) three days per week, with every other weekend required. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 26, 2026, at $1,926 weekly.

Your Role

As a float pool RN, you will rotate between two campuses approximately 9 miles apart, covering units including 3 North, 2 South, the sister facility, and the ER for med-surg and telemetry holds. You will manage high-acuity patients with primary care nursing responsibilities. Patient ratios vary by unit: 1:4 on telemetry, 1:5 on med-surg, and 1:3 for DOU. You will be first to float when floating is required and must have experience reading telemetry strips on Phillips monitors and signing off on them, though monitor techs are present.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 to 3 years of telemetry nursing experience; travel experience preferred
• Ability to manage common drips including amiodarone, cardizem, and heparin (non-titrating)
• Experience with BiPAP and CPAP; no ventilator management required
• Chest tube experience preferred
• Active California RN license
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• BSN not required

Patient Population

You will care for patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab status, respiratory distress, CHF, COPD, post-surgical cases, orthopedic conditions, and cardiac presentations.

Schedule and Requirements

You will work three 12-hour day or night shifts per week with no block scheduling. Every other weekend is required, including four weekend shifts in a four-week cycle. Holiday requirements include one major and one minor holiday. The facility uses Cerner as the EMR system. Navy scrubs are required.
