Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as an RN on a Neurosurgical Med Surg unit at Mercy Hospital St Louis, providing direct patient care to individuals with stroke, seizures, MS, spinal conditions, and other neurological diagnoses or post-neurosurgery recovery needs.

Shift and Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week (3x12)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend hours as needed, with standard expectation of every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• No call requirements

Clinical Details

• Patient ratio of 1:5–6 on the Neurosurgical unit
• Float requirements as needed within scope
• Willingness for occasional Charge Nurse responsibilities required
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate care effectiveness of other direct care providers
• Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care Med Surg and Neuro experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• FIT test required on site
• Night shift orients on day shift; you must be available the entire week for orientation

• Scrub color: Black
• Up to 5 days of requested time off in each 13-week period can be automatically approved
• Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)

Contract Details

• Duration: 91 days
