Telemetry RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Telemetry unit (IMCU - 2 West). This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of November 3, 2026.

Position Details

• Work 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call or standby duties
• Weekly pay: $1,966
• Patient ratio: 1:3–4 with 2–3 unit aides available

Unit Information

The true Telemetry unit features 38 beds and central telemetry monitoring staffed by 2 monitor technicians. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, renal failure, respiratory failure, alcohol withdrawal, and post-PCI patients. Respiratory equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC (no mechanical ventilation). You will manage common drips including DKA, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem at set rates or protocol-driven protocols. RNs are not required to titrate drips. You must be able to read and interpret rhythm strips independently.

Requirements and Expectations

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid California nursing license
• 2–3 years of Telemetry experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
• Must pass an on-site proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
• Willing to float to 4 West or Med/Surg as needed
• Unit-specific orientation: 1 shift
• BSN not required

Scheduling and Culture

Self-scheduling is available by seniority, with schedules created approximately 3 weeks in advance. Shift trades are available. You will work into the permanent staff rotation for holiday coverage. Charting is performed in Cerner. Scrub color is navy.
