ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position working every other weekend or up to 3 weekends per month if unit is busy
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; night shift weekends are Friday through Saturday
• 1 holiday off during assignment
• First to float when needed
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1
• Self-scheduling with manager balancing shifts based on unit needs
• May be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
• No additional call or standby shifts required
• Float to telemetry unit with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed; expected to float between all 3 ICUs
• 1 to 2 days of unit/department specific orientation
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience; no exceptions
• Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24 to 48 hours prior to acceptance; maximum of 2 attempts
• Pass/fail Simulation Lab on Day 1 of orientation
• RNs required to titrate drips including Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex, Morphine, Dilaudid, Ketamine, Rocuronium, Levophed, Vasopressin, Cardene, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, and Insulin
• RNs required to interpret their own cardiac monitor strips using GE monitors
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes Draeger, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPAP, and Airvo
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
