ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends based on unit need
• On-call required as needed
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 3+ years of RN ICU experience required, with a minimum of 2 years accepted per facility standards
• Travel experience required, with more than one year of travel experience preferred
• Strong proficiency with Neuro patients required, as this unit sees a high volume of neurological cases
• Must be comfortable and proficient with Epic charting system
• May float to other units within scope of practice, and may float to Summit or Herrick Campus depending on need and census - travelers are expected to be flexible with floating; shuttle is provided if floating is requested, with approximately 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• California RN license required
• Key skills required include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA and acute stroke management, emergency medications, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro intensive care, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management
