SLP Acute Care Job in Midland, TX

Midland Memorial Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for acute care. This is a 140-day travel assignment beginning October 12, 2026, with a 5x8 days schedule paying $2,707.20 weekly.

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients across all age groups—neonates, adults, and geriatrics—and develop individualized treatment goals and plans
• Administer speech therapy treatments, modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallow (FEES)
• Provide accurate, timely, and complete documentation using Cerner
• Work with patients presenting with dysphagia, dysarthria, CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, fluency disorders, and nervous system disorders
• Utilize clinical skills including Passy Muir Valves, tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patient care, thickening agents, and Frazier Free Water Protocol
• Provide patient and family education and compensatory strategy training
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to promote interdisciplinary teamwork

Requirements

• Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience
• Active Texas state license
• BLS certification required
• Weekend and on-call coverage required
• Cerner experience preferred
