Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work 4x12 hour day shifts (7 AM–7 PM) on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit, earning $2,628 per week with 48 guaranteed hours.

Your Role

You'll provide medical and surgical care to nephrology, kidney transplant, and renal patients. Your primary responsibilities include:

• Patient assessment, care planning, and documentation using the Meditech system
• Medication administration and treatment delivery
• Collaborating with unit staff to deliver high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintaining a 1:6 patient ratio

Unit Details

The Transplant Nephrology unit operates with strong support systems in place. A unit secretary is available during the day, PCTs assist with patient care, and a unit educator supports staff development. A virtual nurse handles patient admissions, allowing you to focus on direct bedside care. Note that dialysis is performed off the unit.

Scheduling & Requirements

• 4x12 hour day shifts (7 AM–7 PM)
• 3 weekend shifts required per month
• No on-call requirements
• Agency and contract nurses float first per unit floating policy

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum ADN degree
• BLS certification required
• Experience in med/surg, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal care, and dialysis preferred

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs required; black scrub pants permitted.
