About this role

MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026. You will work 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility as procedures conclude.

Schedule and On-Call Requirements

  • 4x10 day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
  • On-call: one weekend per month (Friday–Sunday) plus one call shift and one evening shift per week; call structure may adjust based on staffing
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • Facility may call off up to one shift per 2 weeks

Role Overview

You will manage 4–5 labs daily with two CVTs per lab, handling approximately 20 cases per day. You will perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional coronary catheterization, vascular interventions, angioplasty, shockwave therapy, temporary pacing, IABP, Impella, carotid angiography, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), FFR/IFR, pericardiocentesis, and cardiac biopsies. Patients include adults and geriatric populations. No floating between service lines or sister facilities is required.

Clinical Competencies

  • Proficient in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitor roles
  • Left and right heart catheterization
  • Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Rotablator atherectomy and thrombectomy/thrombolysis
  • Accurate cardiac monitoring and stent placement
  • IVC filter placement and PACS management

Equipment and Systems

You will operate Impella, balloon pump, Angiojet, shockwave devices, MAC Lab documentation system, and Fuji Vidistar image storage. Epic charting experience is preferred. Hospital-issued scrubs are provided; your agency will supply the radiation badge.

Requirements

  • 2+ years Cath Lab experience
  • Community hospital experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS (registered or in process), and SC SCRQSA license
  • Allied Health Professional degree

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,592. Assignment duration is 91 days.
