Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts
• Unit will accept 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required to any other Med/Surg Tele areas
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
• Must have at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying - first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic charting system experience required; also uses PYXIS and SBAR
• Navy scrubs required
• 36-hour unit orientation
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred but not required
• Required skills: IV start, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg Neuro experience
• Primary patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neuro diagnoses
• Unit includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• If a shift is called out, the traveler is expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of the contract
• If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to the end of the contract to make up for those dates
• Block scheduling is not always guaranteed
