Telemetry RN Job in Oxnard, CA

You will work as an RN in a float pool position at St Johns Regional Medical Center, rotating between two facilities located 9 miles apart. This role offers 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) on a primary schedule, with every-other-weekend coverage and no block scheduling. Over a 4-week cycle, you will work 4 weekend shifts and are required to cover one major and one minor holiday.

Your responsibilities include:

• Providing direct patient care in telemetry (1:4 ratio), med-surg (1:5 ratio), and DOU (1:3 ratio) settings
• Reading telemetry strips on Phillips monitors with tech support available
• Administering and monitoring drips including amiodarone, cardizem, and non-titrating heparin
• Managing patients on BiPAP or CPAP; no ventilators required at the primary site
• Floating between telemetry, med-surg, DOU, and ER for med-surg and telemetry holds
• Caring for high-acuity patients with conditions including pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab status, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
• Supporting post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients

You will need:

• Current RN licensure and minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience; travel experience preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to read telemetry strips and experience with drips
• Chest tube experience preferred
• Strong independent practice skills in a primary care nursing environment with limited support staff

This is a busy, resource-limited environment where you will work independently. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support are available 24/7. You will wear navy scrubs. Charting is done in Cerner EMR. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting December 7, 2026, at $1,932 per week on a 3x12 nights schedule.
