PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with a self-scheduling format
• Every other weekend required
• Must be flexible to facility scheduling - no schedule requests can be requested, approved, or accommodated
• No on-call required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required - unit accepts first-time travelers
• Patient ratios: 4 patients per nurse on days, nights, and weekends
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit census of 28 beds
• If one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• GA or Compact nursing license required
• Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Cardiac Telemetry, Central line care/management, Chest tubes, CVA management, Feeding tube care, Heparin Protocols, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Cardiac and Vasoactive drip management and titration, Tracheostomy care, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and more
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
