ED RN Job in College Station, TX

CHI St Joseph Health College Station Hospital is seeking an RN for their Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,021.76.

Schedule and Facility Overview

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays rotated with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• The ED is a Level III STEMI and Stroke Receiving center with 18 beds including 4 critical rooms for trauma and codes, plus a 6-bed Fast Track
• Average of 70 patients treated per day with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 depending on acuity

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Staff triage, monitor beds, and care for ER hold patients as assigned
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
• Perform EKGs and troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula through ventilators
• Manage common drips including pressors and sedation
• Care for diverse patient populations including pediatrics, cardiac, STEMIs, strokes, abdominal pain, respiratory, and GI cases
• Use MEDITECH charting system
• Travelers are first to float when floating is required; matrix scheduling attempts to accommodate traveler needs

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a score of 83% or higher prior to contract signing (three attempts allowed)
• BSN not required

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs required; undershirts must be navy. Scrub jackets are optional but must be navy if worn
