ED - Emergency Room

Opportunity:

RN - ED

Job Details:

• Work in a Level III trauma center, accredited chest pain center, and primary stroke center emergency room
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day and night shifts available with staffing consisting of 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1 paramedic, and 1-3 sitters
• Minimum 2 weekends per month required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating to other units
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS or ENPC
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, ATCN, CEN
• Perform acute care and assessment of emergency room patients
• Perform IV initiation, blood collection, blood transfusions, and medication administration
• Perform resuscitation of adult and pediatric patients
• Provide care for behavioral health patients
• Assist with intubation, restraint application, splinting, and moderate sedation
• Work with equipment including Level 1, Lucas, Welch Allen vital sign machines, GE bedside monitors, and EKG machines
• Document using Meditech EMR system
• Must be team-oriented and flexible with unit placements including triage and resuscitation rooms
